The District of Columbia's Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency hired our team members to revamp the DC citizen preparedness guide and create a new guide for kids. These guides needed to thoughtfully inform District residents about hazards ranging from winter storms to terrorist attacks. These guides also had to take a large amount of complex information and make it easily understandable even for children. Originally we were given 100-plus days to produce.

However, the District's new Mayor decided that he wanted the guides ready for Preparedness Month, which was just over thirty days away.

In just a month, we produced the two guides. The Agency was so pleased with the guides that he had the family guide distributed to every household in the District and the children's guide given to every DC schoolchild. The Mayor also featured them in all of his Preparedness Month's events.
